A recent nationwide survey has revealed that an overwhelming majority of Nigerians believe the country is on the wrong track under Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

According to the survey shared by Statisense, a leading data company that uses AI Artificial Intelligence to simplify data and documents for businesses, consumers and governments, 93 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the nation’s direction, while only a small fraction said the country is heading in the right direction.

The data originates from Afrobarometer’s Round 9 survey (conducted 2021–2023 across 39 countries), a peer-reviewed pan-African research network emphasising democratic governance, where Nigeria’s results reflect economic hardships and governance failures as primary drivers of dissatisfaction.

Replies to the post mix frustration with humour and tribal jabs, highlighting how such polls fuel online debates on leadership accountability, though the minority optimistic view persists amid calls for structural reforms like those advocated by figures such as Peter Obi.
