BREAKING: CAF Takes Major Decisions On WAFCON 2026 And AFCON 2027
Confederation of African Football, CAF, will take major decisions on the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, and 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Friday (today).
CAF’s executive committee will meet in Dar es Salam, Tanzania, on Friday (today) to take decision as regards both competitions.
The WAFCON 2026 finals is due to be played in Morocco next month.
However, a congested international calendar, and doubts over the readiness of co-hosts Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to stage a befitting 2027 AFCON may force the competition to be further postponed until 2028.
A decision is also expected to be made on host of the Women’s AFCON.
There are reports Morocco will pull out as host of the competition, with South Africa ready to step in.
