BREAKING: Joao Pedro Scores Brace As Chelsea Knocks Out Napoli From Champions League
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Two second-half goals from Joao Pedro clinched a Champions League last-16 place for Chelsea and spared Liam Rosenior’s team two extra ‘punishment’ games.
Chelsea were in danger of throwing away their chance to earn a top-eight place after squandering an early lead that had come courtesy of an Enzo Fernandez penalty.
Manchester United flop Rasmus Hojlund had given Napoli a first-half lead, but Pedro netted twice, the second of which was set up by substitute Cole Palmer, to grab a dramatic victory in Naples – the club’s first on the road in the Champions League since October 2022
The result meant that Napoli, coached by former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, crashed out of the competition.
