BREAKING: Osimhen, Ndidi And Lookman Fire Super Eagles To 3-0 Lead Vs Tunisia
The trio of Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman has just fired Super Eagles To commanding Lead Over Tunisia
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Nigeria’s Super Eagles seized firm control of their Africa Cup of Nations Group C clash against Tunisia as goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman handed them a commanding 3–0 lead early in the second half of their second match match on Saturday night.
The Super Eagles dominated possession from the opening whistle, patiently probing the Tunisian defence with crisp passing and sustained pressure.
Their superiority finally paid off in the 44th minute when Ademola Lookman surged to the by-line and delivered a teasing cross that Osimhen met with a powerful header, directing the ball past the goalkeeper to give Nigeria a deserved lead.
Nigeria carried their momentum into the second half and doubled their advantage barely five minutes after the restart. Ndidi capitalised on a loose ball inside the area, keeping his composure to beat the goalkeeper and stretch Nigeria’s lead to 2–0, sending Nigerian supporters into celebration.
Tunisia attempted to respond with spells of possession and physical challenges, but Nigeria remained disciplined and organised, limiting the Carthage Eagles’ attacking threat.
Osimhen was booked late in the first half for protesting a refereeing decision, while Tunisia escaped punishment for several robust tackles that drew protests from the Nigerian bench.
Earlier in the match, Osimhen had seen a goal ruled out for offside and missed two close-range headers, underlining Nigeria’s attacking intent long before the breakthrough arrived.
Ndidi also threatened from distance as the Super Eagles dictated the tempo of the contest.
