JUST IN: Presidency Speaks On Gbajabiamila’s Removal As Chief Of Staff
The Presidency has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
THe Genius Media Nigeria reports that there has been growing speculation online suggesting a shake-up in Tinubu’s inner circle.
However, in a statement issued on Thursday, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the viral claim as “a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news whose sole aim is to create disharmony within the government.”
“There is absolutely no truth to this story. We advise Nigerians to disregard it entirely,” Onanuga said. He stressed that Gbajabiamila remains firmly in his position as Chief of Staff, while Muri-Okunola continues to serve as Principal Private Secretary.
Onanuga cautioned against the spread of unverified information, urging media outlets and social media users to exercise responsibility in reporting. “We reiterate that news media should always verify their information before publishing or sharing on social media,” he added.
