JUST IN: Ghana Police Arrest Victor Wanted In Nigeria For Killing Of FRSC Officer, Daughter
GHANAIAN authorities have confirmed the arrest of Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, the Nigerian man accused of orchestrating the gruesome killing of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, SRC Lasisi Funmilayo, and her young daughter in early November.
The Ghana Police Service said Victor was tracked down to a friend’s apartment after investigators were prompted by “a viral video detailing his alleged atrocities”. Acting on intelligence, officers moved swiftly to apprehend him before he could attempt another escape.
Victor, who had earlier been declared missing by the Ogun State Police Command, reportedly fled Nigeria in a bid to evade arrest after the horrific murders sparked nationwide outrage.
According to Ghanaian officials, the suspect is now in secure custody, and diplomatic and security channels have been activated to facilitate his transfer back to Nigeria, where he is expected to face prosecution.
Nigerian law enforcement agencies have welcomed the development, describing the arrest as a major breakthrough in the pursuit of justice for SRC Funmilayo and her daughter. Further updates on his extradition are expected in the coming days.
