SOCIAL media firebrand and relationship commentator, Saida Boj, has once again ignited controversy after wading into the unfolding drama surrounding Regina Daniels’ alleged marriage crisis. In a new viral video, the outspoken influencer warned women against using Daniels’ situation as justification for marrying “poor men,” insisting that poverty and abuse are a deadlier mix.

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Saida Boj, 23, who is known for her daring opinions on feminism, dating, and female empowerment through her podcast The Boj Experience, minced no words as she linked wealth to security in relationships. Reacting to the reports of alleged abuse, manipulation, and blackmail in Regina Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, Boj said:

“Dear ladies, Regina Daniels’ case is not an excuse for you to go and marry a poor man. Poor men are worse than Ned Nwoko because they will beat you without giving you money. Whether poor or rich, a narcissist is a narcissist and a wicked man is a wicked man. But poor men will do worse — and it will hurt more because you’ll leave that marriage empty-handed.”

Her statement, equal parts satire and social commentary, drew sharp reactions online — with critics calling her views “insensitive” and “materialistic,” while supporters hailed her for confronting the “economic realities of modern relationships.”

In her fiery rant, Boj went further, declaring that women should reject any man who lacks financial stability:
“If any broke man attempts to marry you, tell him to go and work. Don’t marry a poor man for any reason. If a man doesn’t have at least ₦50 million in his account, he should never dare to lay hands on a woman — it’s a crime. Only billionaires are allowed to touch women.”

While the statement was clearly hyperbolic, her underlying message was that financial independence and economic power are crucial shields against domestic and emotional exploitation.

Boj’s comments come in the wake of Regina Daniels’ explosive claims last month that her marriage to the 64-year-old senator had become a “nightmare,” citing alleged rape, forced drug use, and blackmail. Nwoko, however, denied the accusations, countering that he had invested over ₦125 million in Daniels’ career and family, portraying her as “ungrateful and unstable.”

The scandal has since divided fans into two camps — those who see Daniels as a survivor reclaiming her voice, and others who view her as a social climber facing the consequences of a transactional marriage.

But for Saida Boj, the moral of the story is simple: financial status should never be sacrificed in the name of love. She concluded with a jab that summed up her stance — “Don’t let anyone romanticise suffering. Security isn’t just emotional — it’s financial too.”
