The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Delta Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring only qualified individuals are trained and licensed to drive through accredited driving schools in the state.

Mrs Joyce Alexander made the remark Tuesday during a strategic meeting with driving school operators, aimed at discussing sector challenges and promoting road safety across Delta State.

She assured operators that the FRSC would enforce compliance with its standards, recognising the crucial role driving schools played in shaping the next generation of safe drivers.

Alexander said the command would identify and shut down unapproved driving schools while collaborating with stakeholders to monitor and regulate driving school operations effectively.

She promised that she would escalate complaints to FRSC headquarters to ensure that unapproved institutions were closed and that accredited operators were supported in improving the quality of driver training.

Mr Paul Imeh, proprietor of Crownfaith Oxford Driving School, Ozoro, raised concerns about the proliferation of unapproved schools undermining road safety and the integrity of driver training in the state.

He highlighted the risks posed by unlicensed centres and unqualified instructors, urging the FRSC to act immediately to protect public safety and maintain standards.
