BREAKING: Historic Moment As Hamas Release First Of Final Israeli Hostages [VIDEO]
HAMAS has released the first group of Israeli hostages after holding them in captivity for over two years.
Israel says seven hostages have been released into the custody of the Red Cross – with the other 14 set to be freed later from other areas of Gaza by the 10am deadline.
Families and friends of hostages broke out into wild cheers in Tel Aviv as Israeli TV announced that the hostages were in the hands of the Red Cross.
Tens of thousands of Israelis are watching the transfers at public screenings across the country – with a major event being held in Tel Aviv.
There was no immediate information on their condition.
The bodies of around 28 hostages who have been killed in Gaza will also be returned and are expected to be released in coffins draped with Israeli flags.
The hostage release is seen as the first step towards a lasting peace between Hamas and Israel – with Donald Trump declaring the “war is over”.
