BREAKING: Chelsea Defeat Lincoln City To Qualify For 2025/2026 Carabao Cup Fourth Round
Chelsea are through to the fourth round of this season’s Carabao Cup with a hard fought 2-1 victory over League One side Lincoln City.
The hosts almost took the lead very early on in Lincoln, with a long throw-in causing havoc for the Blues and the ball ending up at the feet of Lewis Montsma, who hit the post. The first-half was incredibly slow from a Chelsea perspective and it was not even a surprise when the League One side took the lead on 42 minutes.
A risky Enzo Fernandez pass towards Trevoh Chalobah was dispossessed and Rob Street finished excellently to put the Imps ahead. But whatever Enzo Maresca said to his Chelsea players at the half-time break clearly worked, with the visitors coming out and scoring two quickfire goals to go ahead in the tie.
Tyrique George levelled the match with a thunderous strike from around 30 yards, before he then assisted Facundo Buonanotte, who poked in his first goal for the club.
