BREAKING: FG Declares Friday September 5 Public Holiday To Mark Eid-ul-Maulud

The Genius MediaNigeria reports that The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday to mark celebration of the Eid-ul-Mawlid.

Eid-ul-Mawlid is the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the federal government in a statement by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Magdalene Ajani, on Tuesday.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and beyond, urging reflection on the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.
