As Expected, Davido Unfollows Iyabo Ojo On Instagram After VeryDarkMan Leaked Group Chats
Nigerian music star Davido has unfollowed Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo on Instagram after a leaked WhatsApp conversation sparked controversy on social media.
The Genius Media Nigeria reports that the drama started when social media critic VeryDarkMan posted screenshots showing Iyabo Ojo questioning Davido’s loyalty to the late singer Mohbad.
In the messages, she expressed frustration over Davido still following Naira Marley on Instagram, despite claiming to support the Justice for Mohbad campaign.
Iyabo Ojo accused the singer of showing fake support and described his actions as clout-chasing.
“My problem is not even with that black whatever, it is Davido who flew down like he claimed to fight for justice, but he still dey follow Naira Marley,” she wrote.
“That means he was chasing clout. I’m so disappointed and to think he has been saying he is the only superstar artist who stood by Mohbad. Just fake love 001.”
This comment stirred strong reactions online and appears to have triggered Davido’s decision to unfollow her.
Although Davido has unfollowed the actress, a quick check reveals that Iyabo Ojo still follows him.
Mohbad passed away in September 2023 in unclear circumstances, leading to protests across the country.
Many celebrities, including Davido, joined candlelight events and social media campaigns demanding justice.
Iyabo Ojo was very active during the campaign and even created a WhatsApp group to organize the movement.
In a recent interview, she admitted she regretted pushing for Mohbad’s body to be exhumed.
