Watch Moment Donald Trump Refuses To Leave Podium As Chelsea Celebrate FIFA Club World Cup Victory Over PSG [VIDEO]
In an unexpected moment, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, refused to leave the podium as Chelsea captain Reece James was about to lift the FIFA Club World Cup title following the team’s 3-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, July 14.
Donald Trump was in no mood to back away as he refused to leave the podium and stood alongside the Chelsea players who went on to lift the FIFA Club World Cup title after a crushing 3-1 over Chelsea.
Typically, dignitaries step aside after handing over the trophy, allowing the players to celebrate on their own. However, Trump chose to remain at the centre of the celebrations. Moments later, FIFA President Gianni Infantino also joined the group, further adding to the spectacle.
“I came to watch Pele, and he was fantastic. That’s like saying Babe Ruth, but I would say Pele was so great,” Trump said in an interview with broadcaster DAZN, drawing an unusual comparison between the football legend and the American baseball icon.
