BREAKING: Nyesom Wike Vows To Resign As FCT Minister If….

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has responded to corruption allegations levelled against him by former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, stating that his wife received ₦4 billion monthly from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to train Niger Delta women.

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Wike, while speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television on Friday, July 4, urged President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report on the NDDC, which he claims implicates Amaechi’s wife.

Wike vowed to resign as the FCT Minister if the report is made public and does not indict Amaechi’s wife.

He said, “Amaechi’s wife was never an industrialist. That’s why I call on Mr. President to release the forensic audit of the NDDC.

“Her company received N4 billion every month to train Niger Delta women that’s N48 billion in one year alone. The forensic audit report is there. Who buried it? Malami, the former Attorney General.

“I plead with Mr. President to help Nigerians by releasing that document. If the report does not confirm what I’ve said, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I don’t worship office.”

Wike added that he was not declaring the audit infallible but insisted it should be made public.

He added, “Let Nigerians see the report. That is how Amaechi’s wife became an industrialist—N4 billion every month.”

The forensic audit initiated by the Federal Government in 2021 investigated the financial transactions and project implementations of the commission from its inception in 2001 to August 2019.

It aimed to identify mismanagement, misappropriation of funds, and other irregularities.
