The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Fubara’s second visit to President Tinubu stirred up fresh reactions on social media. Many people shared their thoughts, some surprised, others criticizing the move.

The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, visited President Bola Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Tuesday.

This visit happened just days after Fubara hinted that he might soon return to his position as governor.

Fubara had previously asked his supporters, the people of Rivers State, and Nigerians to thank President Tinubu for his quick action to prevent chaos in the state, which was threatened by ongoing political problems.

At a meeting in Port Harcourt with leaders and members of the Simplified Movement, marking his two years in office, Fubara said he was eager to return to Government House. He mentioned that steps were being taken to restore the Executive and Legislative offices and institutions.

He promised that democracy and good governance would soon be restored in the state, with both the Executive and Legislative branches working together to benefit the people.

Fubara added that if not for the political crisis, the two-year celebration would have been an opportunity to show the important achievements of his administration in various sectors. He assured that the government would come back stronger, more united, and focused on delivering quality democratic dividends to the people.

The visit ignited many reactions on social media, including:

Matthew Oriahi (@MatthewOri6307): “Governor Fubara is beginning to annoy a lot of his admirers. Why this visit? To beg for his reinstatement? He was elected by his people but was suspended and replaced by a sole administrator appointed by the President!”

Sunny Chris (@SunnyCh90145481): “Gov. Fubara they tried to ostracise you because you decided to stay out of their evil activities but not they’ve called you to initiate into their evil hall of fame, remember that Nigerians who have stood with you all these while are watching you.”

ekenefortunate (@ekenefortunate): “@grok can you extract details of the discussion based on the posture of the picture”

King C (@REALCASKING): “Wike go cry hahahahaha

O.K.E.N.W.A.com (@OKOLIEIFEANYIC1): “A whole sitting governor on suspension…. Make it make sense please… Awon Omo-Eru tinuburuku…”

Kelvin Egari (@egari_kelv7915): ‘…”now on suspension from office..”. And you say it with pride, laying credence to the brazen lawlessness exhibited by your principal with support from his ‘yes men’ in the legislative branch of the FG led by the ‘Yesman in-Chief’, @Senator_Akpabio Progressives indeed!’

Dj Kelz (@Djkelz201): “Dey play if sim like join apc you see 2027 #RigandDie2027”
