TRIAL OF PIDOMNigeria: Court Fixes Date For Isaac Bristol’s Bail Application Hearing—The Federal High Court in Abuja has reported fixed September 27, 2024 for the hearing of bail application, Isaac Bristol, accused by the Nigerian authorities of being behind the prominent whistleblower social media account ‘PIDOMNigeria’.

Human rights activist and convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, who took to his X account to announce the court bail hearing, called on Nigerians to show solidarity, and demand freedom for the PIDOM Nigeria now.

Sowore wrote: “Bristol Isaac, aka @PIDOMNIGERIA, is scheduled to appear at the Federal High Court in Abuja tomorrow for a bail hearing, accused of exposing high crimes.

“All are welcome!

SaharaReporters reported on September 6, that the Federal High Court had fixed September 9, for hearing on a motion challenging the unlawful detention of Isaac Bristol.

The Nigerian government through the Inspector-General of Police had accused Isaac Bristol of being behind the prominent whistleblower social media account ‘PIDOMNigeria’.

Additionally, the court scheduled September 11, 2024, as the date for the hearing of Isaac Bristol’s bail application.

The presiding Judge, Justice Emeka Nwite had on September 3, issued an order, directing that Isaac Bristol be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre until September 23, 2024, following his arraignment by the police.

During the proceedings, Isaac Bristol had entered the dock and vehemently pleaded not guilty to the nine-count charge levied against him by the police, pertaining to various cybercrime-related offences.
