JUST IN: Over 1000 Lives Lost As #Israel Vs #Hamas War Continues In #Gaza—-The death toll from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian terrorist organization, Hamas, has hit 1,000 as of Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Recall that on Sunday the government of Israel formally declared war on the terrorist group after the group attacked the country from Gaza on Saturday in what has been termed the worst attack on Israeli land in over 50 years.
The last time Israel was hit this hard was when a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria attacked the only non-Arab country in the Middle East during the 1973 Arab-Israeli conflict.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a dire warning to the shocked and traumatized nation that a “long and difficult” confrontation lay ahead after Hamas launched a barrage of rockets into Israel early on Saturday and dispatched fighters who killed civilians and abducted at least 100 others.
German government sources claimed that some Germans who are also Israeli nationals were kidnapped by the Palestinian militants during their incursions into Israel. However, the sources did not provide the involved numbers.
Also, the White House announced on Sunday that US President Joe Biden has ordered “additional support” for Israel in the wake of the “unprecedented” attack.
A statement from the White House reads: “The President directed additional support for Israel in the face of this unprecedented terrorist assault by Hamas”.
According to officials, at least 370 people have died as a result of Israeli airstrikes on 800 targets in Gaza, which many people feared may be the beginning of a ground invasion. Many more people have also been hurt throughout the war zone.
Tens of thousands of Israeli forces were deployed to hold out Hamas fighters in the South, where the bodies of civilians had been found strewn on roads and in town centers.
