A check conducted by The Guardian in the early hours of today revealed that the grid dropped to a mere 273 megawatts of electricity generated from only two out of the over 27 power stations.

This incident comes barely a week after TCN celebrated what has been questioned as 400 days of grid stability.

Several Distribution Companies confirmed to The Guardian that the grid went down at 00:41 AM, revealing that most of their feeders were affected.

As of 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, there were five generating plants operational. Afam VI was generating 0.70MW, Dadinkowa had 0.00MW, Ibom Power was producing 32.90MW, Jebba had 240MW, and Olorunsogo was on the grid with zero generation.

Around 1 AM midnight, the total power on the grid was 35MW, indicating a complete collapse of the system.

The grid dropped to 193MW around 3AM before recovering to 273MW at the time of filing this report.

TCN has not yet responded to inquiries regarding this development.
