MUST READ!!! See Three African Countries Where Their Presidents Have Been Ruling For More Than 40 Years – #GabonCoup—-The African continent is truly blessed with natural and mineral resources but countries in the continent seem to be cursed with bad leaders supported by the international communities.

Several countries in other continent don’t have so much resources, some don’t have any at all yet they are doing much more better than African countries. Sometimes we blame international interference for the backwardness in Africa but it still boils down to the kind of leadership in the countries. African leaders have over the years presented themselves to be too cheap for foreign countries to manipulate.

One of the issues facing the continent is leaders practicing monarchical system of government disguised as democracy. In a democracy, term limits is one of the characteristics but in some African countries, presidents have ruled for more than 40 years yet they claim to be practicing democracy just because they hold elections that are always defined by violence, intimidation and rigging.

This explains why the continent has been experiencing military coup frequently for two years; there seems to be a revolution especially in France colonized countries where the presidents are perceived to be puppets of their colonial masters. In the last two years, Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger Republic and just recently, Gabon have experienced military coups.

Even though coup is highly condemned, it seems an end hasn’t come to it in Africa as there are still countries with presidents that have been ruling for more than 40 years.

They are:

Cameroun: The president of Cameroun, Paul Biya is a 90-year-old man and has been in power since 1975. He has ruled for 48 years with no significant value to the country. He is currently suffering from dementia and can hardly give cognitive explanation for anything. He was recently at an international summit where he farted on stage and got confused because he didn’t know what was happening around him. He kept on asking his aide about what was happening and why he was standing on the podium.

Equatorial Guinea: The president of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has been ruling the country since 1979. He has been in power for 44 years. He has also made his son to be the vice president of the country which means after he dies, his son will take over from him. He is currently incapacitated and is hardly seen in public. He has been rumoured to have died severally because he goes unconscious sometimes.

Uganda: The president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni took over power in 1986 and has since then ruled up till this moment. He has been in power for 37 years. He is currently in his 6th tenure in office and despite the fact that elections hold, the opposition has been greatly shut down and intimated in the country. He is ruling the country with his son who is incharge of the military forces. He is currently positioning his son to be the next president of the country after him.
