Romeo Lavia is excited to achieve ‘great things’ with Chelsea after completing his transfer to the club on Friday, and noted he is already familiar with Diego Moreira and Wesley Fofana in the Blues’ squad.

The former Southampton midfielder has joined Chelsea in a deal that could be worth up to £58million and signed a seven-year contract ahead of the Blues’ clash with West Ham this weekend.

Lavia follows in the footsteps of new signing Moises Caicedo in having the opportunity to join Liverpool but ultimately ending up at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea director Joe Shields is said to have played a key role in the move having also spent time with the 19-year-old and Manchester City and Southampton.
