BREAKING: Agba Baller Asisat Oshoala Sets Record As Super Falcons Vanquish Australia At #FIFAWWC – #SoarSuperFalcons—Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala has become the first African player to score at three editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Australia took the lead in the first minute of the added five minutes after the regular first 45 minutes through Emily Van Egmood.

The Super Falcons responded swiftly to Australia’s goal with the equaliser through Uchenna Kanu in the last minute of the added time.

The Falcons turned the game on its head in the second half with two goals from Osinachi Ohale and Oshoala.

Alanna Kennedy pulled one back for Australia to make it 3-2 at full-time.

Australia defeated the Falcons when both teams met at the 2015 edition of the competition.

The victory against Australia is Nigeria’s fifth win in the history of the Women’s World Cup.

Nigerians have hailed the Super Falcons’ performance after the team held European champions Canada to a goalless draw in their opening game.

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday extended his best wishes to the Super Falcons.

A statement signed by the special adviser to the president on special duties, communications, and strategy, Dele Alake, said Tinubu “firmly believes that the upcoming match on Thursday will be a thrilling encounter that will culminate in victory for the Nigerian team.”
