Let There Be Solidarity For Sustainable Peace on the Outcome of Presidential Polls - APC South Africa Chapter

Let There Be Solidarity For Sustainable Peace on the Outcome of Presidential Polls – APC South Africa Chapter—-The All Progressives Congress, South Africa Chapter has deemed it fit to address the current state of affairs in Nigeria in the post-election period to call for solidarity and to sustain the nascent democratic process of Nigeria with the recently held Presidential election on Feb 25th, 2023.

The All Progressive Chapter (APC), South African Chapter, Chairman, and Member Presidential Campaign Council, Otunba Oyekanmi Oluwatoyin at a town hall meeting to celebrate the victory of the President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a letter of appreciation from the Presidential Campaign Council for the tremendous contribution of Diaspora body in the just concluded Presidential Polls.

He was appointed as the senior special Adviser to the coordinator African matters Tinubu Support Organization (TSO). And at the event, there was a recognition of the APC South Africa chapter and the party structure led by Hon. Otunba Oyekanmi Oluwatoyin as the sustainable Executive Member, Presidential campaign council (PCC) Office of the secretary.

Hon. Oyekanmi asserts that the declaration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu showcased that votes garnered from all regions ensured his victory at the polls.

“Electorates looked through his track record, his nationwide spread and strength to canvass for votes from the electorates and his overall role in championing the democratic system of governance in Nigeria, and his resilience played a major role since the return to the democratic system of government in the nation,” he said.

Otunba Oyekanmi, Senior Special Adviser to the National Coordinator on African Matters Tinubu Support Organization (TSO), averred it is pertinent to recall that, no election process has been free and fair without glitches recorded. Hence, we as a nation, must not jettison the effort of the electoral body to minimize it by ensuring the collation of results was carried out despite the technicalities that were beyond the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), as the electorates used their votes to exercise their franchise.

To ensure the party’s victory at the polls, diaspora members were mobilized for the election to vote for the APC presidential polls as they expressed their satisfaction with the conduct of the Electoral body and electorate, while the South Africa Chapter chairman voted and observed bother the presidential and gubernatorial polls.

While the president-elect lost Lagos state being his stronghold to an opposition party other opposition as well lost out with incumbent Governors in Benue, Ebonyi, Abia, and Enugu lost out in their bid for electoral seats in the National Assembly election.

Through it all, our principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was able to amass more votes which made this victory a monumental one despite the stiff opposition from other opponents with at least 25 percent votes carted in States with the most numbers of accredited voters.

The APC as a political party enjoined other aggrieved opposition to abide by the Peace Accord signed before the election to not cause a bridge of the nation’s peace or cause anarchy by making statements that might cause disharmony, conflict, and violence in the nation by seeking redress on electoral cases/petition at the tribunal to a conclusive end and abide by the court ruling which has been the standard since the return back to democracy in 1999.

We as a party urge all Nigerians to abide by the election result by joining hands in solidarity with President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build a nation we all will be proud of in the comity of nations. A peaceful nation will guarantee technological advancement, infrastructure, and commerce, and Nigeria will carry on being the big brother and giant of Africa as we have been known.
