Unlike #GRV, Funke Akindele Accepts Defeat; Deletes Political Posts From Her Instagram Page—The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Funke Akindele, has deleted all posts relating to politics and the PDP from her Instagram page.

Checks by our correspondent on Monday showed that the posts visible on her page of 15.7 million followers were that of her movie promotion and other personal posts.

Akindele and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, were defeated by the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in Saturday’s election.

Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 762,134 votes, defeating Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party who scored 312,329 votes, followed by Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor with 62,449 votes.

It appears Funke Akindele has accepted defeat, as barely six hours after the result was announced, she deleted all political posts from her Instagram page.

A quick glance at her Instagram profile shows that she has deleted all of her campaign posts, leaving only personal photos and movie promotion posts.
