#VerifiedPhyna: Kenyan Great Grandma’s Agony Video Resurfaces As #Queen Elizabeth II Dies

#VerifiedPhyna: Kenyan Great Grandma’s Agony Video Resurfaces As #Queen Elizabeth II Dies—Indeed the whole world is undoubtedly inundated and immersed in the mourning and celebration of a life well lived by the late British Monarch, her Imperial Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

However, many around the world especially from defunct colonies who have been victims of the British imperial dominance are still nursing animosity and shedding tears, but that of joy following news of the Queen’s death.

A documentary by DW News on Muthoni Mathenge, a Kenyan great grandma who has demanded compensation from Queen Elizabeth for being tortured by the British colonial troops in 1952 has resurfaced thereby casting doubts on the genuineness of the praises attributed to the late monarch.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, DW News in June 2022, Mathenge asked the monarch to compensate her for the harsh treatment she received from the colonial troops more than 50 years ago. The elderly ex-freedom fighter stated that she wanted the payment to be sent to her directly without involving middlemen.

While Britain was celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of its monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, the old Mau Mau freedom fighter wanted to send the queen a message that stated: “Let Elizabeth bring what belongs to me.”

Mathenge noted that she and her husband faced brutal torture during the struggle for Kenya’s independence. She recounted how she was tortured by the British colonial military in 1952 after they stormed her house in search of her husband, a former member Mau Mau rebel group.

“Let Elizabeth bring what belongs to me, no middlemen in between. Let the compensation come directly to me. Let her give me a just compensation because she is the ruler,” urged Muthoni.

Mathenge displayed marks on her right foot as proof that she was tortured with axes by the imperial soldiers during Kenya’s struggle for independence from British colonial rule.

She explained that she reunited with her husband in the forest with the help of her neighbours, but was later recaptured and detained without her husband who never came out of the forest.

Sadly, that was the last time she saw him. “He nursed my wounds, even the ones on my legs. If you take a look at this leg, you can see it had been cut using an axe twice,” she explained while displaying the marks.

In another story quaking the social media space, a Nigerian-born lecturer Uju Anya @UjuAnya has sparked global outrage after she took to her verified Twitter handle to mock late Queen Elizabeth II‘s health condition hours before her death.

Uju accused Queen Elizabeth II of sponsoring the “genocide” that led to her family being displaced.

In another tweet, she referenced the alleged role of the British empire in supplying the Nigerian government with arms and ammunition during the nation’s civil war which spanned 1967 – 1970.

Her post attracted a flurry of reactions including criticisms and backlash as well.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, the Professor fired several damning shots at the British empire and the influential role played by the late Queen of Elizabeth II, hoping that her death would be painfully “excruciating.”

Queen Elizabeth II, died on Thursday, September 8th 2022 at her Scottish estate, where she had spent much of the summer. She was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926.

She was aged 96 and had reigned for 70 years being the longest-serving monarch. The Queen came to the throne in 1952 and witnessed enormous social change.

In his public speech as the new king, her son King Charles III said the death of his beloved mother was a “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her loss would be “deeply felt” around the world.
