#Ramadan: Pray For Nigeria’s Complete Restoration, Islamic Foundation Urges Muslims—The Abdulwahid Islamic Foundation has urged Muslims to pray for the complete restoration of Nigeria during the ongoing Ramadan.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the foundation, Sharaphardeen Idowu, made the call in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, to announce commemoration of the foundation’s 12th Annual Ramadan Lecture and Special Prayers for the Nation for 2022.
According to him, the programme, comprising free medical services and Ramadan lecture/special prayers and distribution of food items, is scheduled to hold on April 16 and April 17.
“We enjoin all Muslim faithful to seize the opportunity of the 30-day Ramadan period to offer prayers to the Almighty God for complete restoration of the nation.
“We encourage Muslims in the state to be considerate of the needy around them by sharing out of the abundance given to them by the Almighty Allah,” Idowu said.
He said the Ramadan lecture tagged, “Societal Ills and Corruption: The Islamic Solutions”, would feature discussions on germane topics by seasoned Islamic scholars.
Idowu, a legal practitioner, said that the theme of the lecture was chosen to create awareness and concerns around societal ills and to recommend applicable solutions to either eradicate or minimise the trend.
He added that the annual Ramadan programme would be preceded by a free medical service on April 16 at Ikosi- Isheri LCDA Secretariat, Ketu, supported by Drugfield Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and others.
Idowu said that the lecture would be delivered by the guest speaker, As-Shaykh Ridwan Olagunju, a lecturer at the University of Ilorin, Kwara.
According to him, other speakers will include the retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa, Chairman of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and Mr Waheed Ishola, Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos State among other dignitaries.
He said that the Ramadan lecture and special prayer for the nation would take place at Tamroyal Multi-purpose Hall, Ajibola Crescent, Alapere-Ketu, Lagos State at 10a.m
