What Alex Iwobi Said After Reactivating His Instagram Page Following #AFCON2011 Death Threat—-Super Eagles Forward and Everton star, Alex Iwobi has reactivated his Instagram page days after turning it off following the exit of the Super Eagles from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

Recall, iwobi replaced Kelechi Iheanacho in the second half in the team’s Round of 16 clash against Tunisia on Sunday, was sent off for a reckless challenge on a Tunisian opponent.

His dismissal piled pressure on the team which ultimately made it difficult for the Super Eagles to launch a comeback after going behind early in the second half.

Iwobi said in a post to Instagram on Tuesday that although the Super Eagles went to Cameroon for more, defeat is part of football.

“Moments of joy can quickly turn into pain and anguish. As much as it’s a part of football, we came for more. Our fans who shared these moments with us both in Cameroon and across the world deserved more!” he wrote.
The Everton midfielder added, “The beauty of the game is the next moment of jubilation is never too far round the corner. We will be back to fight for our nation, stronger. We owe it to you, and I owe it to myself. Thank you for all the words of support & encouragement – it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
