JCI Ibadan Awarded The Best Creative Young Entrepreneur’s Business Pitch [PHOTOS]—-Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) Ibadan held its annual Sina Adegunle Business Summit on Wednesday, 19th of January 2022 at Daylan Event Centre Ibadan.

An event in its third year, it again sought to provide financial support to young entrepreneurs through the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award.

 

The theme of the business summit was “Leveraging Technology and Digital Skills for Business Growth” and the event kicked of at 12pm.The occasion was graced by the honoree and chairman of the day,, Dr. Sina Adegunle and other dignitaries including, Amb. Olawale Agbomeji, the JCIN Ibadan President; Adebayo Akande; Special Adviser on ICT and E-Government to the Executive Governor of Oyo State; Hon. Seun Fakorede, Commissioner for Youth and Sport, represented by Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State on project delivery; Barr. Olasukanmi; Commissioner for Trade and Investment represented by Engr. Mrs M.F Olarenwaju and Engr. M.A Oladejo, Directors and Representatives from Ministry of Industry and Trade; Awokoya Joseph, Center manager Technology Incubation center.

The guest speaker, Mr. Philip Amiola, founder of The Plenipotent Company Limited, spoke on ways in which small scale entrepreneurs can thrive in this digital age. There was also a panel session which had Folarin Adeboye, CEO F and K Savings; Ore Afolayan, founder Reni.ng; Damilola Ashaleye, co-founder Ashdam Solar as discussants. The session was moderated by JCIN Amb kemi Irinoye.

The highlight of the event, the pitch competition saw six young entrepreneurs making the grand finale: Alive pad, a startup business that focused on making reusable menstrual pad to substitutes the costly disposable pads for girls; ALT foods, a food business that focused on manufacturing and selling a local food, Ègbo; Ileemore, an e-learning platform for Anglophone West Africa secondary school students; Mou Agro, an agricultural startup that partners with farm owners to supply students and working class with farm produce; Log X, a logistic startup business set to operate in Ibadan, using an innovative mode of operation and 24/7 Courier Services.

After careful consideration of the pitch presentations by the judges, ALT food emerged in the first place,, followed by Ileemore in second place,, and 24/7 Courier Services as the second runner up.
