The Genius Media Nigeria reports that popular market located in Balogun, Lagos state has been consumed in fire between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Marketers who came this morning with the hope of a promising day in anticipation of the festive season sales where heartbroken seeing their shops and goods worth millions of naira burnt to ashes.
While the fire raged, goods worth millions of naira were burnt down few days to Christmas, traders who turned out for usual business on Thursday lamented.
They said the cause of the fire unknown to many was yet to be ascertained.
Officials of Lagos state government are yet to speak on the latest development.
