Federal Government Gets 14000 Followers On New Koo Account Amidst #TwitterBan—-The Genius Media Nigeria reports that amidst the indefinite suspension of Twitter in Nigeria, the Federal Government has opened a new social media account on Indian microblogging and social networking service, Koo.

Meanwhile, the Economic Times reported that Koo’s co-founder, Aprameya Radhakrishna, announced on Thursday that the federal government has created an account on its app.

This website earlier reported that after Twitter deleted President Muhammadu Buhari’s “civil war” tweet, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed directed that the platform be banned from operating in the country.

Mohammed hinged the government’s decision on the, “persistent use of the platform” by citizens were “capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.”

After the development, Koo’s CEO, Radhakrishna, stated that the platform would now simplify the app’s usability for Nigerians.
