See some of the reactions from Nigerians below.

Omoh, 2 years now Crypto have been everything, paid my final year school fees, paid my rent, did my school project, got a good Android phone, all because of trading cryptocurrencies. Nigeria don't like anything giving us hope to keep living. #WeWantOurCryptoBack

The Nigerian government forgot that people where dealing in crypto before banks started being middle men… I go still dey run my thing without banks

— Class Captain (@therealkaykerry) February 5, 2021

Crypto Market in Nigeria is going to be higher than World market

— MARO (@KvngDaniel) February 5, 2021

Like seriously cuz I don't see why banning crypto should be the priority of Nigerian govt when there other pressing issues to deal with. Misplaced priorities ffs😞

As much as possible, I try not to comment on government policies but instead read up on them and discuss with experts within my network however, regarding this “systemic crypto ban”, I am very disappointed. This tender , research suggests is the future, should not be curtailed.😔

— Dr. Ifeanyi Okpala (@Okpala_IU) February 5, 2021

One thing is for sure, Nigerians will still find a way around this whole crypto stuff.
After all some persons have foreign accounts.

CBN decided to fight techies , not just in Nigeria but all over the world, the won't win!

Have been hearing about Crypto, Forex trade, Bitcoin. The most painful thing is I don't have who could show me how they do these. So painful 😭😭😭

— Oluwaseun (@Holuwaseun28) February 5, 2021

MMM operated a porous centralised model while,
Crypto runs a decentralized architecture which offers several listed options on ICO

As we know,"central" bankofNaija sees the imminent fear of the alternate currency adoption. There's evolution of currency & blockchain is the key https://t.co/K7P9p6oBPS

Banned banks from allowing customers sell and buy crypto

— Rashidat Jimoh (@Rashidatjay) February 5, 2021

Can't buy crypto with Bank deposits
Can't buy Crypto with Visa and Mastercard
Can't withdraw Crypto to Banks

Nigerian government enough is enough #WeWantOurCryptoBack #EndSARS

CBN banning crypto, has to be one of the worst decisions I’ve ever witnessed, but we go DOGE am.

The CBN @cenbank Needs to explain to Nigerians why the restrictions on Crypto is neccessary and how it will help us average citizens and the nigerian economy.
It's doesn't make sense to me

Buhari govt will never recover from the aftermath of #EndSARS. Crypto played a key role during that protest and they're already preparing the stage to attack crowdfunding for any plan Soro Soke Generation have towards 2023.

They have control over MMO, bank accounts, now crypto.

— Ayemojubar (@ayemojubar) February 5, 2021

If this policy of banning #Crypto came way back in 2017 or so, this government can still be excused. But in 2021, with massive adoption? Institutional inflow? Introduction of Decentralized Finance? Haabaaaa!! We should be forward thinking na. The "joke" is on Nigeria #Buhari.
