#Edo2020….Fresh trouble looms for Edo State governor, Godwin #Obaseki, as an aspirant in the forthcoming Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary election, Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, on Monday secured a court order restraining the governor from participating in the shadow election.

Ogbeide-Ihama, who is currently a member representing Oredo Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives filed the suit on Monday at a Federal High sitting in Port Harcourt.

His argument was that since Godwin #Obaseki who just decamped to the party was not part of the candidates screened by the PDP National Working Committee before the date on the timetable lapsed, he should not be allowed to participate in the primary election.

The court also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the embattled governor.

Meanwhile, a group, the Edo Youths and Women United, has apologised to the people of the state and the African Democratic Congress for the error of judgment in picking the ADC governorship form for Obaseki.

The group, in a statement, accused the governor of betraying the trust of members, saying it had withdrawn its support for him, with sincere apologies to ADC members and the people of Edo State.

The statement read in part, “It was to stop the corruption, impudence and cruel godfatherism that has persisted in Edo politics that we the Edo youths and women United decided to procure the ADC Governorship form for Governor Godwin #Obaseki. But we are disappointed by the decision of the governor to continue the godfather politics.”
