Afro Pop Star, #Frequencie has stated that there is no need for Nigerians to celebrate Democracy Day when human rights abuse and police brutality against innocent citizens continue unchecked.

Frequencie with the real name, Ayokanmi Oluwasegun Eyanro in a statement issued to mark 2020 Democracy Day on June 12, said the alarming rate of police brutality and killing of Innocent Nigerians by security agencies remain of great concern in the country despite 21 years of uninterrupted Democratic rule.

The Social Justice Advocate noted that the actions of security agencies, especially officers of Nigeria Police Force always bring back memories of harassment, brutality, intimidation, maiming and killing by military during post June 12, 1993 struggle across Nigeria.

The Wazobia Crooner berated the Police for allegedly killing an innocent Octogenarian in her residence situated in Agulu, Anambra State. He therefore called on the Inspector General of Police to stop paying lip service and take action against overzealous officers.

Frequencie, a lead artiste under Soft Life Style Label charged Federal Government to take decisive steps to end barbaric act, saying Police brutality might consume the nation as Nigerians anger are rising daily.

”Look at what George Floyd murdered by overzealous cop has caused advanced country like United States. The government might find it difficult to keep public peace, if police and other security agencies pushed them to the wall with senseless killings.” Frequencie retorted
