Rotary Club Of Gbagada Donates Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) To LASUTH

The Rotary Club of Gbagada has supported government’s effort to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic by donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Lagos State University teaching Hospital (LASUTH) frontline personnel on Thursday, 30th of April. 2020.

Speaking on the behalf of the Club, the President, Rotarian Akinwale Odutola appreciated the efforts of the LASUTH management team and all frontline workers for the efforts put into the fight against COVID-19 to contain its spread. He noted that Rotary club thought of what to do in assisting the medical frontliners and thus, the provision of N95 masks to help contain the dreaded disease ravaging the world, came to mind.

Rotarian Odutola was full of admiration for the topnotch medical services delivered to Lagosians under the current leadership of Professor Adetokunbo Fabamwo. He assured the hospital of their continued support at all times.

In his response, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, also a member of the Rotary Club of Gbagada, welcomed the Rotary Club and appreciated their helpful thought and eventual action. While addressing the team, he noted “we need all the help we can get as PPE is scarce and our health workers need to be protected while we handle all patients with suspicion. LASUTH is at the forefront of essential services, most of our doctors and nurses and other health workers are always at work and they need to be properly protected against this disease.”

Prof. Fabamwo gratefully acknowledged the Rotary Club of Gbagada for the N95 masks which is he reteirated as very essential and much needed during the pandemic period.

Other members of the club at the event include Past District Governor, Rotarian Dr. Dehinde Shoga; Past Assistant Governor, Rotarian Muyiwa Matuluko; Past President of the Club, Rotarian Adenike Abdulazeez and Rotarian Lydia Collingwoode Williams.

While members of the LASUTH management team at the event include the Director of Clinical Services and Training, Dr Ibrahim Mustafa; Acting Director of Hospital Administration & Human Resource, Mr Ayodeji Savage; Assistant Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Adebola Aina; Director of Finance, Mr. Tayo Lawal, Director of Engineering Department, Mr. Ola Sadiq and Chief Auditor, Mr. Ajofoyinbo.
