Assumed for d**d, for sleeping lifelessly for over 24hrs, an elderly madman has narrowly escaped being taken to the murtuary today in Ikotun area of Lagos State by the state’s Environmental Protection and Safety Agency (LASEPA).

According to investigation by this Reporter, shopowners and officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers had already concluded that the mental patient had passed on yesterday Sunday, February 9, given the unusually long duration of his sleeping time and the seeming lifelessness of his body.

He was sighted close to a heap of refuse, in-between a culvet, located about 20 meters away from the Ikotun Roundabout.

On arriving at the scene of the incident, this reporter also sighted and observed the madman for over 20 minutes.

Throughout this period of observation, the sleeping man didn’t make any sign of being alive.

In fact, his unkept body had almost been taken over by tons of red dust that was almost covering his entire face.

“It appears this madman has died o,” a shop-owner, who identified herself as Alhaja, sought confirmation from a colleague.

” It seems so o,” the lady responded, driving the two into a long sympathetic look and teeth-gnashing emotion.

But as at this morning of Monday, February 10, when this reporter passed by the same location, the madman was seen up and chewing something.

People gather around him, saying “God saved you. You would have been packed to the mortuary by hospital ambulance,” one onlooker said.
