According to reports gathered in Ogun, Lagos, Adamawa, Katsina, and Sokoto states, the directive of the federal government issued through the Nigeria Customs Service had triggered fuel scarcity and hike in the prices of petroleum products.

The directive had led to scarcity of fuel in communities such as Ihunbo, Ilase, Ajegunle, Idiroko and Agosasa in the Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.
It was further learnt that there were fuel queues at the Seme border as only two filling stations were selling fuel.
