President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Abuja, Nigeria’s capital from Sochi, Russia where he participated in the maiden edition of the Russia-Africa summit.
President Buhari arrived Abuja a few minutes ago, a terse statement on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, by Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President confirmed.
“President @MBuhari has returned to Abuja after his participation in the #RussiaAfricaSummit in Sochi, Russia,”Ahmad tweeted.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian President with President Vladimir Putin of Russia during the summit.
This online news platform understands that the meeting of the two leaders was in a bid to further strengthen relations in security, trade, and investment, and building partnership that will enhance Nigeria’s huge gas potential.
Apart from his meeting with the Russian President, President Buhari during his visit to Russia amidst other engagements secured a military partnership deal as well as an oil deal between Nigeria’s NNPC and Russia’s Lukoil.
