Mathew Knowles, the father of pop singer Beyonce has revealed he has breast cancer.

The 67-year-old made this known during an interview with Michael Strahan, which is set to air on Good Morning America on Wednesday October 2nd. He revealed his diagnosis on the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness month, which runs through October.

According to research, Breast cancer in men is rare and it’s often deadlier. More than 99 percent of all breast cancer cases diagnosed are in women.

Mathew is a record executive and talent manager. He is best known for managing Destiny’s Child during their career.
