Drone strikes on Saturday destroyed crucial Saudi Arabian oil facilities, destroying 5% of the daily global oil supply, and 50% of Saudi Arabic’s oil supply and Yemen’s Houthi rebels took responsibility for the attacks.

According to reports, The Houthi Rebels are allegedly backed and sponsored by Iran and are seen as a proxy division of the Iranian military but Iran has denied responsibility for the attacks.

The White House, with a possible meeting between US President Donald Trump and Iranian president Rouhani looming, as part of negotiations to quell tensions between both nations diplomatically and in the gulf sea, have refused to rule out a possible military attack on Iran.

‘The President will always consider his options,” White House counsellor, Kellyane Conway said on “Fox News Sunday” when asked if Trump would still sit down with Rouhani under current circumstances. “We’ve never committed to that meeting at the United Nations General Assembly. The President’s just said he’s looking at it.”

“When you attack Saudi Arabia … you’re not helping your case much,”

White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere reacting to the oil field attacks said in a statement.

“The United States strongly condemns today’s attack on critical energy infrastructure,” Deere said. “Violent actions against civilian areas and infrastructure vital to the global economy only deepen conflict and mistrust.”
The US government “remains committed to ensuring global oil markets are stable and well supplied,”

Meanwhile US Secretary of State has put the blame on Iran, calling on other countries to condemn the Iranian regime and their efforts at destabilizing global oil supply.

Trump on Sunday called Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to reiterate America’s support and militia assistance if needed.
