The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday bowed to the Teranga Lions of Senegal 1-0 in their final build-up game to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) commencing in Egypt on Friday, 21 June.

Concise News reports that the match between the West African nations was played behind closed doors as the two teams fine-tune their rhythm ahead of Africa’s biggest football party.

The decision to play the match away from the public eyes was been backed by CAF.

Some of the Eagles who featured in the match include Daniel Akpeyi, Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel Obi, William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Kalu.

Three-time African champions, Nigeria will play in Group B at the Nations Cup alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi.

Their opening match at the tournament will be against Burundi on June 22 at the Alexandria Stadium.
