Head of the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Abayomi Shogunle, has reportedly been transferred to Nkalagu, Ebonyi State.

Neither Mr Shogunle nor the police have made official statement confirming the transfer.

Shogunle has been known to be proficient in highly controversial statements.

Recently, he justified the clampdown by policemen on a night club in Abuja, saying that s*x workers do not pay taxes among other reasons.

He also attracted the ire of Nigerians in April when he advised that Nigerians should communicate with policemen in pidgin and not ‘Queen’s English’ to avoid misunderstanding.

Several tweets have been pouring in to the news of his transfer, one of which is that of former Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Joe Abah.

Abah wrote on Twitter late Friday:

“Ebonyi welcomes @YomiShogunle to Nkalagu. Please note: 1. Nobody will call you “Buoda Yomi” here. 2. You will not be in the state capital. 3. You will be busy with serious issues and should not have time to mis-yarn on Twitter. 4. Small boys will call you “Punish”, not Police.”
