JUST IN: Gov. Okorocha Wins Imo West Senatorial Seat

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has been declared the winner of Imo West Senatorial election.

The Returning officer for the district, Prof. Francis Ibeawuchi, announced the results at the collation center in Orlu Local Government Area on Monday.

Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 97,762 votes to defeat his major contenders – Jones Onyereri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 63,117 votes; and Senator Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who got 30,923 votes.

The announcement of the result threw Okorocha’s supporters into jubilation as PDP supporters protested.
