Ghastly Accident Involving A Car, Bus, Motorcycle Claims 5 Lives Along Lagos- Ibadan Expressway

” The motorcycle which was overloaded with four persons including the rider were crushed to death together with another passerby.”

Five persons yesterday evening lost their lives in a fatal accident involving two vehicles and a motorcycle at Mowe, Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

A total number of 16 people -11 male and five female – were reportedly involved in the crash, out which five male died on the spot and one person was left injured.

The five persons include a motorcyclist with three passengers and one passerby.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, saying it occurred around 4:50pm.

According to him, vehicles involved in the accident were Hiace Bus marked WWD554XA, Toyota Camry car with registration number APP854EF and a Bajaj-made motorcycle with registration number, EJG028QE.

Oladele said the accident was caused by excessive speeding on the part of the Camry car which led to the loss of control thereby hitting the motorcycle and the bus.

He said “The suspected causes of the multiple crashes was excessive speeding on the part of the car which led to the loss of control.

” The motorcycle which was overloaded with four persons including the rider were crushed to death together with another passerby.”

The deceased’s bodies have been deposited at Fakoya morgue in Sagamu while the only injured person has been taken to Supreme Global Support Hospital Loburo in Mowe for medical treatment.
