2019 PDP PRESIDENTIAL TICKET: Tambuwal in closed-door meeting with Atiku Abubakar

ABUJA: The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has held consultations with the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar in connection with his aspiration to vie for the country’s presidency in 2019.

Abubakar and Tambuwal are among the eight presidential aspirants seeking to pick the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Tambuwal on Sunday night paid a courtesy visit to Atiku  at his Asokoro, Abuja residence.

Both Abubakar and Tambuwal later had closed door meeting along with the Director General of Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Daniel.

Although details of the meeting were not made known, but a source privy to the meeting told THISDAY that the consultations were aimed at achieving a consensus on who will eventually pick the PDP presidential ticket.

When contacted, the Head of Atiku Media Office,  Paul Ibe confirmed that Tambuwal did indeed pay courtesy visit to Atiku.
