In a statement by Coordinator, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations, LASU, Mr Ademola Adekoya, said that the appointments came after the institution’s Governing Council at its 118th statutory meeting approved the recommendations of Committee for Appointments and Promotions.
He said: “Sequel to the recommendations of the Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee, the Governing Council of Lagos State University has approved the promotions of 11 new Professors and 38Teaching Staff of the Institution at its 118th Statutory meeting held on Thursday, 28th June, 2018 at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
“The break down of the new status is as follows: 11 Associate Professors were duly promoted to the position of full fledged Professors; 14 Senior Lecturers were elevated to Associate Professors; 18 Lecturer 1 moved from that position to Senior Lecturers; Two Lecturers previously on the position of Lecturer II are now on Lecturer I; One Assistant Lecturer moved up to Lecturer II ;and 3 Assistant Lecturers were upgraded to the positions of Lecturer II.”
