The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) is targeting 36,000 residents of Ikorodu division to be screened for HIV with focus on Imota, Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede, Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North Local Council Development Areas.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Dr. Oluseyi Temowo, disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony to commence the screening exercise at the Ajegunle – Ikorodu community in Ikorodu.

Dr. Temowo stated that efforts were being put in place to screen as many residents of Lagos State as possible to achieve the global 90-90-90 initiative, stressing that the present administration is passionate about the health of Lagos residents.

He therefore called on the Baale and the Elders of the Community to help mobilise their wives and children including their neighbours to come out en-masse to access the free HIV Counseling and Testing Services being carried out by the Agency in the area.

Responding, the Baale of Ajegunle-Ikorodu Community, Chief A.O Oladunjoye, thanked the State Government for the initiative and also expressed gratitude for the construction of the inner road, street lighting and medical outreach to enhance the health of the residents. (NEWS EXPRESS)
