NIMET : Thunderstorms, rains to dominate today’s weather

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Sunday, July 23, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected over the region with prospects of thunderstorms over Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Dutse, Yobe and Kebbi during the morning hours. Later in the day, cloudiness will likely persist with chances of thunderstorms over Sokoto, Katsina, Yelwa and Gusau. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 35℃and 22 – 24℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is anticipated over the region with prospects of thunderstorms/rains expected over most parts of the region during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 31℃and 21 – 24℃ respectively except Jos at 24/17℃.

SOUTHERN STATES: Morning rains are not unlikely over Ondo, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo and the coastal cities while Cloudiness is expected to prevail over the remaining inland cities. Later in the day, thunderstorms/rains are expected to prevail of the region.

Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 31℃and 22 – 23℃ respectively.
